After two 30 + kilometre days behind me, today was slightly lower at 24 kilometres but still enough to demand a constant pace to to get to the next stop in before the heat of the day set in. Temperatures have been in the low mid 30's but the week ahead were looking to get into the high 30's this would not only be uncomfortable bit could be potentially dangerous if I was to keep walking through out the day.

The path out of Ortanto took me along the cliff costline path which does not make for quick travel, but did provide for some spectacular views.

Ortanto the Castel and the port.

Ortanto in the distance as I left town.

An old abandoned monestry along the trail.

I walked up the stairs to have a look inside and out.

The path continued.

Lunchtime break in Vitigliano, and the local church unfortunately closed.

ree

I was starting to take on a two tone look.

A quick prayer to St Joseph would see me arrive in for Vignacastri the night.
